Part 1 Middle Passage.. Middle School/Middle Passage (The Journey) is a feature length documentary about a group of middle
school students and teachers in a Brownsville, New York school (Betty
Shabazz School for the Performing Arts (PS/IS 298) as they participate in
an art history program. Using the arts to enhance their writing and
researching skills.

Part 2. Middle Passage "Black Indians"...follow up to his highly acclaimed documentary feature "Middle School/Middle Passage (The Journey)", director Joel Mejia takes us back inside a special classroom (PS 150 & PS 298) in Brownsville, Brooklyn, NY. The curriculum focuses on the legacy of Black Indians, a little-known ethnic community made up of Americans with both African and Native heritage.
